Chairman, Jantabo Scholarship Initiative
Mu'azu Hamidu Jantabo is a seasoned public servant and political leader in Niger State. He is the current Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, where, under the New Niger Agenda of Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, he championed grassroots development and strengthened collaboration between local government councils, traditional institutions, and the Government of Niger State.
He is a two-term Chairman of Lapai Local Government, during which he also served as Secretary and later Treasurer of the Niger State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON). He is widely recognized for driving reforms, enhancing infrastructure, particularly in rural communities and promoting responsible governance.
Before his ascension to the Lapai LGA chairmanship, Jantabo served the Niger State Government in various capacities, including Pioneer Director-General of New and Renewable Energy and Senior Special Assistant on Commerce and Industry. He also possesses valuable experience in the civil service and the corporate banking sector, having worked in the Registry Department of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, and with Zain Nigeria Limited, among others.
